Historic park designated as cultural property by the local government of Hyogo prefecture

Tanaka Iseki is located at the north of where Chikusa River, flowing south through Ako city, and Yanogawa, flowing west of Une Basin, merge. The historic site is in an alluvial fan spreading southward from the valley in the north. It is a park made by restoring and improving tumuli and woodwind tombs from the late Yayoi era (approximately 1,800 years ago) discovered during the 1988 excavation. The site has been highly valued, with discoveries of large jars with complex patterns drawn on, vessel stands, and standing trays. The historic site kept underneath the park has been designated as a cultural asset by the Hyogo prefectural government in 1990. It is an important remains to know about the changes of society in those days.
