Mainstream of a class B river that flows in the western edge of Hyogo prefecture. Chikusa river flows for a total of 68 kilometers with its source near Enami Toge (pass) in Nishigaichi, Chikusa-cho, Shisou-shi, Hyogo, through Shibumi river, Sayou river, Kami-gori, and flows into Ako. Chikusa river is famous for its clear water, chosen as one of Japan's 100 remarkable waters.The river has always had abundant water, earning its name as "the river that never dries up".
