Indigo-dyed Ako Dantsuin which the efforts from the Edo era is weaved into
Ako Dantsu (carpet) had been created by a woman named Naka Kojima at the end of the Edo era. Dantsu is completely handmade. Its unique coloring and design patterns became popular at the time and was used in the imperial train for the empress, ship for the crown prince and as a carpet for the throne in the Privy Council, highly valued as one of the three best producing district of Dantsusalong with Sakai and Nabeshima.
