Island of beauty with its primeval forest

A small island with a perimeter of 1,630 meters off the Sakoshi bay.Being a precinct of Osake Shrine, people have been prohibited to enter the place from ancient times.TheIkushima Jurin(forest) has been designated as a natural monument by the Government in December 9, 1924.Another episode is that Sakoshi is the place that Hatano Kawakatsu, a member of a power family active during the Yamato diadem from the mid-6th to mid-7th century had arrived at last. Hatano Kawakatsu's grave is situated in this island.
